Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Oakslot academic scheduling platform at oakslot.com (the "Service"), operated by Oakslot ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an institution, you confirm you are authorized to bind that institution, and "you" includes it.

2. The Service

Oakslot provides constraint-based timetable scheduling, resource management, exam scheduling, approvals, and related APIs and integrations for academic institutions. We may improve or change features over time; we will not materially degrade the core Service during a paid term.

3. Accounts and organizations

  • You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account.
  • Data in an organization is controlled by that organization's administrators, who manage member roles and permissions.
  • API keys and calendar tokens you create are confidential; you are responsible for the systems you share them with.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or infringe others' rights, using the Service;
  • probe, disrupt, or overload the Service or circumvent its rate limits;
  • access another organization's data without authorization;
  • resell the Service without our written agreement.

5. Plans, trials, and billing

  • Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the schedule shown at checkout. Taxes may apply.
  • Trials convert or expire as communicated in-product; when a trial or subscription lapses, access is limited until billing is restored. Your data remains stored and can be exported once billing is restored, or on request.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law; you can cancel renewal at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period.

6. Your data

  • You own the data you and your organization put into the Service. We process it only to operate the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You can export your organization's data at any time via the in-product export features and APIs.
  • You are responsible for having the right to store the data you upload — including student and instructor records — in the Service.

7. Availability and support

We operate the Service with commercially reasonable skill and care, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Scheduled maintenance and factors outside our control may affect availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total aggregate liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

  • You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms after notice, or immediately where the breach threatens the Service or other customers.
  • After termination, we provide an export of your organization's data on request within 30 days, after which data is deleted in line with the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes are announced to account owners by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Questions: legal@oakslot.com.
